Eleni Oikonomopoulou is a Ph.D. Architect with over 19 years of experience, specializing in Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Information Technologies, including databases and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). She holds a Master of Architecture from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), complemented by a Ph.D. focused on data management and spatial analysis.
Throughout her career, Eleni has been actively engaged in the design, coordination, and execution of both public and private sector projects, applying BIM methodologies throughout various design and construction stages. She has also contributed as a scientific lead and research team member in national and international research programs, focusing on strategic planning, digital innovation, and interdisciplinary coordination through advanced information technologies.
In her current role at the Technical Services Department of Athens International Airport (AIA), she supervises BIM and Digital Services, leading the implementation of BIM methodologies and promoting digital transformation within the organization. Eleni is responsible for coordinating BIM-related activities across multi-disciplinary teams, supporting project delivery, and aligning digital practices with international standards. Her work focuses on enhancing collaboration, data integration, and the efficient management of infrastructure assets through innovative technologies.
