Jan Philipp Mertens

Jan Philipp Mertens completed his Master's degree in Industrial Engineering at RWTH Aachen University in 2022 and has since been working as a BIM Manager at Formitas. In this capacity, he advises and supports (inter-)national private-sector and public clients holistically in the digitalisation of their planning, construction and operational processes. He simultaneously manages and coordinates the BIM processes of the respective projects. His areas of focus include openBIM implementations such as mixed-use quarter developments, pharmaceutical and medical laboratory construction, as well as data centres. In 2024, he also assumed the management of Formitas's Athens office. Alongside his team in Greece, he oversees a major project in the logistics real estate sector, amongst others. He regularly shares his digitalisation expertise through lectures, specialist articles and podcast discussions.
