Anna Varakli

Anna Varakli is the Co-Founder and CEO of buildingSMART Greece. Since 2017, she has been living in Switzerland, where she currently works as a Project Leader in Architecture and BIM Specialist at Baumschlager Eberle Architekten in Zurich, managing construction projects with an emphasis on digital collaboration. She holds a Diploma in Architecture from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a Master of Advanced Studies in Building Project Leadership from ETH Zurich.

As an active member of the buildingSMART International community, Anna served on the jury for the 2025 openBIM Awards, presented during the buildingSMART International Summit in Berlin. She is also a member of the openBIM Harmony working group within the European openBIM Forum, an initiative aimed at aligning national frameworks and creating a unified approach to openBIM implementation across Europe.

In July 2025, she participated in the EU BIM Task Group Workshop on Interoperability in Bern, contributing to key discussions on aligning digital processes among European countries. Currently, she is involved in a project led by buildingSMART Switzerland for the National Data Dictionary, which aims to develop a standardized glossary and a harmonized building element catalogue for the Swiss construction industry.
