Athanasios Gkolas

Athanasios Gkolas is a Senior Structural Engineer, Structural BIM Lead, and Digital Delivery professional with over 25 years of international experience in the design, review, coordination, and delivery of major infrastructure, transportation, industrial, commercial, and building projects across Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa.

His expertise combines structural engineering with BIM management, digital delivery, ISO 19650 information management, design review, technical assurance, risk management, and multidisciplinary coordination. Throughout his career, he has contributed to complex projects including metro and railway systems, bridges, tunnels, dams, power plants, flood protection works, industrial facilities, commercial developments, and large-scale building projects.

He holds an M.Sc. in Hydraulic Engineering and is a certified PMP® and PMI-RMP® professional. He is currently further developing his expertise in BIM and Digital Twin implementation for the built environment through postgraduate studies in the Global Smart Construction Industry.
