Maya Tryfona

Maya Tryfona is the Co-Founder and Chair of buildingSMART Greece and founder of TRYFONA M. & SIA L.P., a consultancy specializing in semantic data modeling, linked data, and digital information management for the built environment. She represents buildingSMART Greece in forums on openBIM and digital transformation, actively promoting interoperability, data quality, and the adoption of FAIR principles at both international and national levels.

Since 2017, Maya has contributed to buildingSMART International through roles in the Technical Executive Steering Committee, the Airport Entities Project within the Airport Domain Working Group, and the BIMcert Assessment Commission of buildingSMART Austria. Her work focuses on developing standards and methodologies that translate stakeholder needs into structured, standards-based technical solutions.

With a background in geomatics engineering and professional experience in large-scale asset management, with experience in both the aviation industry and water management, Maya combines technical expertise with leadership to drive digital transformation in the built environment. She holds degrees in Surveying Engineering from NTUA and Geomatics Engineering from TU Delft.
